Caravan Gypsy Swing Ensemble has always enjoyed live performance. Their second CD release, An Evening At The Brink Lounge, is an inspired live recording that was recorded in front of a crowd of friends, family, and fans at Madison, Wisconsin's Brink Lounge. An Evening at the Brink Lounge, was officially released on what would have been Django Reinhardt's 100th birthday (January 23, 2010) at the BRINK LOUNGE. Chris and his cousin Emily baked a birthday cake to serve in honor of Django's birthday (coincidentally, it also happened to be official-band-announcer, JOHN KRANIAK's birthday), and so many people enjoyed and commented on how great it was the recipe is now posted in the FAN SECTION.

The band was on fire that night--playing three energetic sets in addition to greeting friends/fans and signing CDs. Caravan thanks everyone who helped make this CD-release party a special night... and of course thanks to the MANY people who purchased CDs.

NEW STUDIO CD SCHEDULED FOR LATE 2010 RELEASE
A second CD release (not yet titled) is scheduled for spring/summer 2010 and features the trio plus Greg Smith (clarinet), Chris Wagoner (violin, accordion), and Jim Huwe (drums, percussion, tabla) on a variety of new tunes/arrangements. Some highlights include new versions of La Foule, How Would I Know, Brazil, Love For Sale, and more. The studio tracking is complete and Chris and Steve Gotcher will begin mixing the tracks this winter.

This recording features the band playing their versions of jazz standards like Honeysuckle Rose, Nuages, and Douce Ambiance, as well as originals and Latin-style tunes.
